Position: Project Manager

Location: Proximity to Red Bank NJ office preferred; remote applicants will be considered

Report: Position reports to SVP, Product

Travel: If working remotely, visits to New Jersey will be required (approximately 4-6 times per year)

Job Purpose Summary:

1) 85% of the position involves serving as the scrum master for our Rostering and Integrations development teams. This includes:

  • day to day responsibility for managing and monitoring the scrum processes and scrum meetings
  • motivating the team and advocating for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness
  • guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
  • assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • managing project resources, tracking status, and communicating risks and issues to ensure that maximum business benefits are maintained
  • facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Supporting and educating the Product Manager and/or Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog

2) 15% of the position involves managing a wide range of special projects, as assigned by your manager, that are targeted to improve business operations and process efficiencies.  This includes:

  • responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating multiple projects through all project phases
  • working closely with multiple departments across the organization.
  • managing project resources, tracking status, and communicating risks and issues to ensure that maximum business benefits are maintained

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Lead the planning, estimating, managing and delivering all activities for the scrum teams you oversee
  • Manage business operations projects in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum environment
  • Ensure projects remain on time and on budget and are well communicated within the organization
  • Identify and track key project milestones
  • Monitor and communicate the progress of project delivery and ensure timely and effective communication of project status
  • Proactively anticipate, identify and communicate project risks and issues
  • Manage day to day aspects of project delivery
  • Support activities to improve information flow and reporting

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably familiar with Agile/Scrum processes
  • Knowledge of integration technologies such as LTI and SAML and familiarity with the IMS Global organization and the standards they have developed
  • Experience with 3rd party LMS such as Canvas, Google Classroom and Schoology and their methods for handling rostering
  • Strong working knowledge of project management processes and toolsets
  • Excellent team leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS degree in Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
